The American
Legion Riders of Mount Joy
Post 185 are members of the American Legion who are also
motorcycle enthusiasts. They can be found participating
in parades, partaking in motorcycling events, and supporting the
communities in which they live, work, and play. Members of the ALR come
from the Legion, the Legion Auxiliary, and the Sons of the American
Legion. The American Legion Riders were formed...

...to participate in parades and
other ceremonies
that are in keeping with the Aims and Purposes
of the American Legion.
...to promote motorcycle safety programs and to
provide a social atmosphere for American Legion
members who share the same interest.
...to use our Association to promote and
support
programs of the American Legion.
The
American Legion Riders is not a M/C, and does not practice M/C
rules or regulations. The American Legion
Riders are family-oriented,
just as its parent organization: The American Legion
Some of
the organizations that benefit from our efforts are The
United Veterans Beacon House,which provides
transitional, safe housing for homeless veterans as they reintegrate
into the society they willingly protected through their military
service.
Another is The
Fisher House, they donate "comfort homes," built
on the grounds of major military and VA medical centers. These homes
enable family members to be close to a loved one at the most stressful
times during the hospitalization for an unexpected illness, disease, or
injury.
Last year we raised $10,000 and this year's ride $4,600.
So when you see a "Pack" rolling down the road, don't think were just a
bunch of biker's out riding around, were "The American Legion Rider's" and
were out "Riding For a Cause"
